Subject: Attn: Fraud Dept: FRAUD ALERT, F3

Dear Mr xxxxxxxx,

Thank you for your message.

I regret that there is little Lloyd’s can do to police the unregulated enterprise of fraudsters.

We have no standing, authority or methodology for stopping people or entities using the name of Lloyd’s of London in a misleading manner or for criminal purposes.

At least in this case, with a USD.100,000,000 minimum investment, the scope for people or companies to fall victim to such outrageous investment return claims will mercifully, be very low.

The matter you have highlighted is also a particularly poor one, in that Lloyd’s is not an insurer.

Lloyd’s does not take premiums, guarantee risks, pay claims or underwrite insurance.

All those functions are undertaken by the independent insurers who trade insurance business with independent brokers representing the interests and requirements of their clients.

Lloyd’s however, is not a party to any such contracts of insurance.

Insurance business is underwritten “AT” Lloyd’s but never “BY” Lloyd’s or “WITH” Lloyd’s.

Unfortunately, social media and the internet generally, contains hundreds of daily-changing examples of such ‘get rich quick’ schemes, invariably run by entities under assumed or false identities.

Should you wish to take this matter forward, you are of course welcome to report same to your local law-enforcement agencies.

I thank you for drawing this matter to our attention but regret, Lloyd’s has no practical or effective method of countering the fraudulent claims of third parties.

Yours sincerely,

Ian Bradford
