GULI, CONTENDER FOR #1 THIEF IN LAW IN RUSSIA, TAKING CONTROL OF FOOD CITY MALL away from Lenkoransky OCG
The Moscow Azeri community has been put on alert. Two businessmen running business at the Food City mall on the Kaluzhskoe Highway have been forced to pay to unidentified extortionists. Nadir Salifov aka Guli had previously asserted claims on the mall.
The Moscow police are looking for the gang that forced businesspeople running business at Food City to pay them, according to Russian Azeri Congress managing director Ilgar Gadzhiev, as quoted by Sputnik.Az. Food City is under control of crime lord Rovshan Lenkoransky killed in 2016 in Turkey.
The police were notified of the extortion. However, there are no specific details. Representatives of the Azeri community and Congress visited Food City on February 22. They failed to learn what exactly happened. It is yet to be known who extorted money and how much they extorted. Such things happen, Gadzhiev said.
It is worth mentioning that the police had reported receiving complaints from Azeri businesspeople complaining about extortionists acting on behalf of an unidentified gang.
Food City belongs to Kievskaya Ploshchad Chairman Goda Nisanov and is controlled by Rovshan Lenkoransky’s family, as the CrimeRussia previously reported.

Businessman Zaur Akhmedov is the one who runs Food City today. He was Lenkoransky’s cousin and brother-in-law. He inherited Lenkoransky’s business after the latter died.
Meanwhile, Nadir Salifov wants to take control of Food City, according to a report made by Rosbalt in January 2018. He is believed by many to be the one who ordered assassination of Lenkoransky. He has recently been released from prison and lives in Turkey, trying to extend his the sphere of influence in CIS states.

Guli was arrested in absentia and put on the winter list for kidnapping in Russia. This means that in CIS states, he has to run his criminal business through henchmen. His brother Namik Salifov is one of such henchmen.

There is evidence that Guli runs criminal business in Russia and CIS states. His henchmen are trying to seize Azeri businesses in Russian regions (for example, in Ural) and Ukraine through threats of violence against extortion victims and their families, as well as through kidnapping and demanding ransoms, according to Ukrainian National Police deputy head Vyacheslav Abroskin.
Guli’s clan also has to defend itself. The Moscow police did not allow Guli’s clan and Chechen thief in law Aziz Batukaev to significantly change their spheres of influence on December 30, 2017. Batukaev wanted to take control of Dorogomilovsky, Danilovsky, and Burovsky markets controlled by Salifov.
The Russian FSB and Moscow Criminal Investigation Department arrested Guli’s gang members led by crime lord Fuad Rzaev aka Afo.

Rzaev and other gangsters extorted money from Azeri businesspeople operating in Moscow, according to investigators. They did it on behalf of Guli. They threated violence and kidnapping. Court arrested Rzaev on March 19. The gang members may be prosecuted together. They will be charged with violation of Article 201, parts 1 and 2 (gang creation and gang violence depending on their crimes) of the Russian Criminal Code.
