RUSSIA: HEAD OF INGUSH INTERIOR MINISTRY DETAINED on suspicion of fraud
A high-ranking police officer is suspected of fraud with service housing.
In Ingushetia, the head of the Interior Ministry staff in the republic, Savarbek Shadiev, was detained on suspicion of fraud. It is reported by TASS concerning the press service of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A high-ranking police officer was detained by of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Ingushetia BIA together with employees of the regional department of the FSB. The leadership of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs appointed a service check upon the incident.
According to RIA Novosti, “urgent investigative actions” are currently being carried out about Shadiev. If guilty, the high-ranking police officer will be dismissed from service in law enforcement, and he “will bear the responsibility established by law.” Details of the detention and the essence of the suspicion are not given.
According to sources of the Kavkazsky Uzel publication, Shadiev was suspected of fraud with official housing.
On Wednesday, January 30, the ICR in the republic announced the initiation of a criminal case against the former police officer; the name of the police officer in the message was not given. According to the investigators, in April 2014, the suspect submitted to the housing commission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Ingushetia an application for the issuance of a state housing certificate, including his sister in the list of family members and hiding the fact of her apartment. A few months later, he got a state housing certificate, according to which money was transferred to his checking account. The investigation believes that 951 thousand 495 rubles were transferred.
